End SARS: Instagram apologises for blocking protest content
Instagram has apologised for letting Nigerians down with a system error that flagged content relating to EndSARS.
“Yesterday our systems were incorrectly flagging content in support of End SARS , and marking posts as false.
“We are deeply sorry for this. The issue has now been resolved, and we apologize for letting our community down in such a time of need,” Instagram said in a Twitter Thursday afternoon.
The apology came a day after Nigerians complained that genuine posts relating the worldwide campaign against police brutality were being censored. On Tuesday night, hundreds of thousands followed a livestream of a Lagos-based DJ on Instagram that showed how Nigerian soldiers were killing protesters in Lekki.
