Academic, professional requirements for Nigerian Air Force 2024 recruitment

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially announced the commencement of its 2024 recruitment exercise, inviting applications from qualified individuals across the country.

The online registration process, which is free of charge, opened on August 21, 2024, and will close on October 2, 2024. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to carefully follow the guidelines provided, ensuring they meet all the necessary requirements, including the submission of essential documents and academic qualifications, to be considered for the roles of tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women within the esteemed military branch.

For Non-Tradesmen and Women

Applicants interested in joining the Nigerian Air Force as Non-Tradesmen/women must meet the following academic criteria:

1. Minimum Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credits in their SSCE, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB exams. These credits must include Mathematics and English Language.

2. Number of Sittings: The required credits must be obtained in no more than two (2) sittings.

3. School Testimonials: In addition to the above, applicants must also provide testimonials from their schools, which serve as verification of their educational background.

For Tradesmen and Women

Applicants looking to join as Tradesmen/women must meet both academic and professional requirements, depending on their specific trade:

1. National Diploma (ND)/National Certificate of Education (NCE): Applicants must have at least a lower credit in their ND or NCE from accredited institutions. Additionally, they must possess a minimum of five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two (2) sittings of SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB.

2. For Drivers and Other Trades Requiring a Trade Test:

   • Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, with a credit in English.
   • They must also possess a valid Trade Test Certificate relevant to their trade.
   • For drivers, a valid driving license is mandatory.

3. For Sportsmen and Women:

   • Applicants are required to present evidence of their professional experience in sports.
   • This evidence should include relevant certificates and any medals or accolades they have earned.

Important Note: Applicants holding Higher National Diploma (HND), First Degrees, Post-Graduate Certificates, or University Diplomas will not be considered for recruitment as airmen or airwomen in the Nigerian Air Force and should refrain from applying. Those with medical qualifications must also present proof of registration with the relevant professional bodies, along with a valid practicing license.
