ADC will participate fully in 2027 elections – David Mark
National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has assured party supporters that the party will feature in all elections scheduled for 2027 despite ongoing court cases.
Mark gave the assurance on Wednesday night after receiving updates from the party’s legal advisers concerning a recent ruling delivered by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Addressing concerns over the legal disputes, the former Senate President urged members not to panic, expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious.
“You do not have anything to be afraid of regarding all the litigations before the party,” he said.
“I want to assure you that we shall triumph in all the cases, and we shall be on the ballot for every election.”
He further stated that the party was fully committed to exhausting all lawful means to defend its position in court.
“We are more than ready for these cases and will do everything within the ambit of the law to surmount every situation,” Mark stated, while promising to personally oversee the legal battle.
According to party officials, the ADC’s legal team has already filed an appeal against the judgment alongside an application seeking a stay of execution, underscoring the party’s determination to contest the ruling.
The reassurance comes as the ADC ramps up preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, which party stakeholders believe will play a major role in strengthening its political relevance.
Party members say Mark’s comments are expected to reassure supporters and boost confidence within the party as it positions itself as a strong force ahead of the polls.
Earlier, the legal team had briefed Mark and other party executives on the implications of the court ruling and the strategies being adopted to tackle the pending cases.
