Ado LG chair demands justice as gunmen kill one, injure another in Otukpo

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Oche Sunday Oche, has expressed deep sympathy for the victims of a recent gunshot incident in Asa Otukpo and has called for swift justice. The tragic attack claimed the life of Master Victor Odeh Orinya and left Mr. Enyigwe Emmanuel Essah injured. Both victims are natives of Apa-Agila in Ado Local Government Area but reside in Otukpo.
The incident reportedly occurred as the victims were returning home after fetching water. Gunmen, upon discovering the victims were from Agila, opened fire, killing Master Orinya on the spot. Mr. Essah is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
Engr. Oche visited Mr. Essah in the hospital to personally assess his condition and ensure he is receiving adequate care. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and condemned the attack, describing it as an act of intimidation and profiling targeting residents of Agila.
Highlighting the vital contributions of Agila and Ado residents to the development of Otukpo, Engr. Oche questioned the motive behind such a senseless act of violence. He assured the community that investigations are ongoing and pledged to work closely with his Otukpo Local Government counterpart to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent future occurrences.
He further called on all residents of Ado Local Government Area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. “We must work together to ensure the safety of our people,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of unity and proactive measures in safeguarding the community.
