Again, NNPCL reduces fuel price
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to N910 per litre.
DAILY POST correspondent observed on Saturday that NNPCL outlets along Kubwa Expressway, Zone 4, and Gudu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had adjusted their pump prices from N935 to N910 per litre, a downward review of N25.
The latest price adjustment has drawn significant attention from motorists, many of whom were seen trooping to NNPCL stations to purchase fuel.
This development is part of the ongoing price competition in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector. Filling stations operated by Dangote Refinery partners, including MRS, AP (Ardova), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil, are currently selling fuel within the N890 to N920 range in major cities like Lagos and Abuja.
DAILY POST recalls that Dangote Refinery recently reduced its ex-depot price to N835 per litre, prompting competitive pricing across the market.
Other filling stations across the country continue to sell petrol for between N930 and N950 per litre, depending on the location.
NNPCL had previously reviewed its pump price to N935 per litre on April 20, 2025, before this latest reduction.
The intensifying price competition follows renewed activity in Nigeria’s downstream sector, with private refineries and marketers seeking to attract more consumers through strategic pricing.
