Agatu crisis: Agbaduma, Abugbe finally resolve to live in peace (See details of resolutions)

RESOLUTIONS REACHED AT THE END OF THE PEACE AND RECONCILIATION MEETING BETWEEN AGBADUMA AND ABUGBE COMMUNITIES.
Following the crisis between Agbaduma community and Abugbe community in Agatu, Benue state government constituted committee to go into the matter and come up with the root cause of the crisis and find a lasting solution to it.
In view of the Above, the two communities met on Thursday 29th August 2019 at the deputy Governor’s office and resolved as follows:
That;
1.Abugbe community has willingly relinquished claims of ownership of Ohebu pond to Ai’Gocheigwu family in Agbaduma.
2.Those farming on the land surrounding the Ohebu pond from the two communities should continue unhindered until the dry season when there will be land demarcation to be done by the peace committed.
3.The police should release the corpse of the murdered Omeche Benjamin from Abugbe community for burial.
4.The case between Ochegwu family and Abugbe Community in respect of the Ohebu pond must be withdrawn from the court.
5.Ashukwu Masquerade remains one and must be for the entire Aila people since there are over ten clans residing in Aila village.
6. Unbeaded issue of Aila has not been resolved, therefore, no one should parade himself as unbeaded chief of Aila until the matter is resolved by the government in totality.
7.Every form of hostility must stop forthwith.
