The Advisory Board has approved the criteria for the first round of inductees into the Idoma Hall of Fame.

The Board, led by Justice Ejembi Eko, gave the approval via a recent letter conveyed to the executive.

The Idoma Hall of Fame, an initiative spearheaded by Engr. Agaba Ikwue, was founded to recognise outstanding Idoma sons and daughters and combat the erosion of identity and cultural pride.

The project includes a museum experience combining traditional artefacts with digital technology. It also features educational programmes and annual celebrations.

The initiative held an inaugural Advisory Board dinner in Abuja in October 2025, which featured prominent and influential Idoma leaders.

The Hall of Fame is recognised as a permanent legacy project of the upcoming Idoma Centenary Celebration, marking 100 years of the Idoma Division.

Among the approved criteria for the nomination of 2026 inductees are:

Pioneers of Noble Feats: Idoma sons and daughters who have been the first to achieve a groundbreaking or historically significant accomplishment in their field.

Young Achievers of Distinction: Individuals who attained outstanding achievements or broke records at a relatively young age, setting new standards of excellence.

Veterans and Long-term Performers: Those who have consistently demonstrated excellence, dedication, and leadership in their profession or calling over an extended period.

Winners of National and International Contests: Distinguished Idoma individuals who have brought glory to the community through victories in sports, entertainment, academics, or other recognised global or national competitions.

Excellence in Theology and Spiritual Leadership: Individuals whose spiritual service, moral leadership, or theological contributions have inspired transformation and upliftment within and beyond Idoma land.

Inventors and Innovators: Idoma minds who have made significant contributions through innovation, invention, or technological advancement, creating lasting socio-economic value.

Champions of Community and Human Capital Development: Personalities whose work has directly improved lives through community service, education, philanthropy, or empowerment initiatives.

Legends in Sports, Entertainment, and Culture: Icons whose achievements in the creative and sporting industries have advanced Idoma culture, heritage, and representation on local and international stages.

Peak Career Achievers: Professionals who have reached the highest echelons of their careers, either nationally or internationally, distinguished by integrity, leadership, and impact.

Academic Record Breakers: Scholars and intellectuals whose academic attainments or research outputs have broken barriers or contributed to significant knowledge development.

Youth Innovators: Young Idoma men and women demonstrating creativity, leadership, and innovation in emerging fields such as technology, entrepreneurship, and social reform.

Heroes and Martyrs in Defence of Homeland: Individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice or shown extraordinary bravery in protecting the peace, security, and dignity of the Idoma people.

Friends of Idoma: Non-Idoma individuals whose singular or consistent contributions have significantly advanced the socio-economic, educational, or cultural development of the Idoma community.

Lifetime Achievement Honours: A distinguished recognition reserved for Idoma icons whose exceptional contributions to society have left enduring legacies that transcend generations.
