Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State strongly denounces unprovoked assaults on Ayilamo and Mbachohon communities in Logo and Gwer-West Local Government Areas, allegedly carried out by armed herders.

Governor Alia expresses deep concern over the heinous actions of these herders, who mercilessly harm and kill innocent citizens of Benue for unclear and unfathomable reasons. He emphasizes that Benue, being an agrarian society, heavily relies on agriculture, and the continuous loss of lives on farmlands and in villages is intolerable and incomprehensible to the state.

Governor Alia laments the recurring alleged attacks by herdsmen on Benue communities, resulting in loss of lives and property, and asserts his commitment to ensuring these barbaric acts are halted. In recent events, twin attacks occurred in the state, one in Ayilamo and another in Mbalam, Mbachohon Council ward of Gwer-West, both suspected to be orchestrated by armed cattle herders.

Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Governor Alia urges state security agencies to promptly investigate these distressing incidents and apprehend the alleged perpetrators to face justice. He calls upon traditional leaders and youths in the state to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security forces.
