Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has vowed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State would takeover the reins of power from the Willie Obiano-led All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) government in the ‘next level’ come 2021.
Osinbajo was optimistic that his visit would enable him, APC members and supporters to discuss as brothers and sisters and chart a common course on how to move the party forward.
“What I am here to do in Anambra State is to open a new chapter, a new beginning. As we approach 2021, we should be focused. The ‘next level’ is to have a new governor.
“We want to make APC take root in Anambra State. I urge every member of APC to work hard and be focused, so that we can takeover Anambra.
“In 2021, we are going to be Number One. For everyone of us, let us focus our mind. In Anambra State, we’ll have an APC governor,” he emphasised.
According to him, the fact that APC placed third in the last election is an indication that the task ahead is not an easy one, urging members to develop and enforce mindset as those who want to win elections.
The vice president, who expressed happiness visiting the state, hinted that the hardworking nature of party members is what has brought the party thus far.
Osinbajo observed that APC in the state is enmeshed in leadership squabbles and some members are not passionate about the manifestos and programmes of the party, saying that well-established unity would be beneficial to all.
He called for unity among party leaders and more commitment among members and supporters, if they actually hope to realise their dream of producing the next governor in the state.
