Arsenal start Premier League campaign with confident win over Wolves
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a solid victory over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Gunners in the first half, heading in a cross from Bukayo Saka on the right. Saka then doubled Arsenal’s lead after the break, firing a powerful left-footed shot into the right corner following a quickly taken free-kick that caught the visitors off guard.
Despite not being at their best, Arsenal remained in control throughout the match and deservedly secured the win against a determined Wolves side.
Wolves debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen had a promising first-half header saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, while substitute Matheus Cunha missed a chance to equalize with a weak shot straight at Raya during Wolves’ pursuit of a goal.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil had little to complain about, as his team struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the afternoon.
