Notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has boldly declared that he and his followers are not afraid of death.

In a recent video, Turji emphasized that their willingness to take up arms proves their fearlessness. He issued a challenge to the Nigerian government, criticizing the decision to send Service Chiefs to Sokoto State to combat his group.

In the video circulating online, Turji stated: “If we were afraid of dying, we wouldn’t have taken up arms. Stop sending Service Chiefs after us.”

The video emerged shortly after Turji and his group were reportedly seen celebrating the alleged seizure of two Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) from the Nigerian Army. However, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has dismissed these claims, stating that the MRAPs were immobilized due to difficulties encountered in swampy terrain during operations against bandits in Zamfara State.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, and other senior military officials arrived in Sokoto State, announcing their intent to lead a major military offensive against Turji and other bandits causing turmoil in the North West region.
