Benue 2019: BIRS boss, Mimi Orubibi under fire for refusing to resign over senatorial ambition
The Chairman of Benue State Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Mrs. Mimi Adzape-Orubibi, is currently at the receiving ends of harsh criticisms over her refusal to resign her appointment while nursing ambition.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state had given his appointees wishing to contest up to 29th May, 2018 to resign or quit their political ambitions.
However, Adzape-Orubibi has refused to step aside having declared for Benue zone senatorial race.
Already, her campaign posters are billboard are all over the zone while she still holds grip to the BIRS position.
Some Benue residents, who spoke with IDOMA VOICE, wondered why she has not resigned like Austin Agada, who was a fellow appointee.
Report says Mrs. Mimi-Orubibi has bluntly told her critics that the would not resign as ealier directed by the governor.
“A bird at hand worth more than the thousand ones flying aimlessly in the bush,” she was quoted as reportedly saying.
The young Lady is said to be the chief god-daughter of former Benue First Lady, Mama Regina Akume.
She is married to a Russian-based Igbo businessman.
Her father, Chief James Azakpe hails from Iniongov intermediate clan in Mbaikyor council ward of Kwande local government area, Benue state.
