Benue guber 2023: Terver Akase inaugurate campaign team
In continuation of his Benue State governorship bid ahead of next year’s general election, a leading guber aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Terver Akase Thursday inaugurated his Campaign Team with a charge on members to work in unity to win the confidence and support of the people.
Akase while performing the inauguration ceremony at the corporate headquarters of his Campaign Organization in Makurdi, called on members to count on God and be peaceful and persuasive as they canvass support from Benue people.
He tasked members of the campaign team to see their appointment as an opportunity to offer “voluntary service of investing in the future of Benue” and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on the mandate, urging them to use the manifesto of his campaign which is ‘Benue S WEALTH template’ to win support from the people.
The 2023 guber hopeful maintained that out of his inclusive leadership approach, all categories of persons in the state including the elderly, youths, women and people with disabilities were constituted on the team to anchor his vision, pointing out that his aspiration to govern the State will be fulfilled through the collective participation of Benue people.
Responding, the Director General, Terver Akase Campaign Team, Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan expressed appreciation to their principal for assembling competent hands and promised to work assiduously with the team to achieve victory.
Engr Utaan described the governorship aspirant as “a humble man full of wisdom and experience who is eminently qualified to lead the state” and charged members of the team to be ready to sacrifice their time and resources in order to achieve the common aim of returning Akase as the governor of the state in 2023.
In their separate responses, Secretary of the campaign team Hon. Charles Shabu who spoke for the appointees from Benue North-East, Barr Daniel Sorkaa for Benue North-West and Susan Odunga for Benue South, all expressed appreciation to Akase for finding them worthy to serve in his campaign team and pledged total commitment.
Also speaking, Director, Women, Mrs Grace Kpekula, and Director, Youths, Emmanuel Abutu, expressed their readiness to work towards achieving the guber aspiration of Akase and sued for unity among team members.
One of the highlights of the event was the symbolic presentation of some campaign materials to members of the campaign team by Mr Akase.
