“I’m not alone”- Arrested kidnapper vows to expose others in Benue

A notorious kidnap kingpin, Ngbede Ekoja Echono, also known as Ocheanpla, has reportedly threatened to reveal the identities of several accomplices following his arrest in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.

The suspect, who has been linked to a series of abductions and violent attacks across the Odugbo, Opaha, and Obinda axis, allegedly warned security operatives against mistreatment, claiming he was not acting alone.

“If you take me beyond here, I will expose many. I am not the only kidnapper in Obinda, Opaha, Odugbo axis,” he declared.

Sources in the area revealed that Echono had previously led armed kidnappers into the village and once stole and sold weapons belonging to the Obinda community without consequences.

“He even took Obinda’s weapon and sold it, yet no one said anything,” a resident said.

Security operatives say investigations are ongoing and that further arrests may follow based on the suspect’s revelations.
