Benue guber: Adejoh congratulates Uba on his emergence as PDP candidate

An Abuja based Serial Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Dr. Peter Adejoh has congratulated the winner of the gubernatorial primary elections conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, Rt. Hon. Titus Tyoapine Uba.

In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, Adejoh also appealed to leaders of the PDP across the state and co-aspirants to rally round the candidate so as to ensure victory for the party in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

The philanthropist urged the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly to be magnanimous in victory and immediately commence reaching out to all his co-aspirants in order to ensure that they all work together as a team for the victory of the party in next year’s gubernatorial election.

“Uba must let all his co-aspirants know that his victory is their victory as there is ‘no victor and no vanquished’ in Wednesday’s primary election.

” The victory is for the PDP and his immediate efforts should be geared towards convincing all that he is a team player and ready to work with them to ensure victory for the party.”

He said the legislative experience of the PDP candidate will be a huge advantage when he eventually becomes governor of Benue State.

Adejoh also commended Governor Samuel Ortom, who secured the ticket to represent Zone B Senatorial District in 2023; the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu, the Senator Gabriel Suswam and Senator Abba Moro who both secured return tickets to represent Zones A and C Senatorial Districts in 2023 as well as other leaders of the party for ensuring a transparent and rancour free primaries in the state.

Uba, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly polled 731 votes out of 851 accredited delegates at the PDP gubernatorial primaries held at Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu came second with 81 votes, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar 2 votes, Rt. Hon Terkaa Ucha 1 vote, Engr. Ben Akaakar got zero vote with 20 votes recorded as invalid, while 8 aspirants announced their withdrawal before the commencement of the polls.
