BENUE LG polls: PDP breaks silence

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue State chapter has called on its supporters in the state to remain calm and resolute as it works towards resolving the crisis rocking the party ahead of LG council election.
The party in statement issued on Tuesday said it would resolve the exclusion of some names of aspirants from the list.
“The PDP wishes to inform its teeming supporters to be calm and remain steadfast as the party is working tirelessly to resolve the impasse that led to the exclusion of its aspirants for the forthcoming local government polls,” part of the statement reads.
The party, however expressed confidence in the John Tsuwa-led BSIEC to uphold the rule of law and publish the list of PDP aspirants to pave way for a free fair and credible local government polls.
It also called on the governor, commissioner of police, and CSOs to prevail on BSIEC to do the needful to avert break down of law and order while calling on its supporters to remain calm and shun any act capable of truncating the peace enjoyed in the state.
