1. The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed the readiness of his administration to provide good governance to the people of the state.
Governor Alia made the government’s position known while briefing journalists Wednesday, after the inaugural meeting of the state executive council.
2. The Benue State government says it has commenced moves to return thousands of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, to their ancestral homes.
The IDPs, who were displaced from their ancestral homes by herdsmen, have been staying in refugee camps in the state for nearly six years.
3. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, appointed by President Bola Tinubu, has fallen ill and has been flown abroad for urgent medical treatment.
SaharaReporters learnt from top presidential sources that Akume, a former Benue State governor, was flown to Germany and had been in the European country for five days.
4. Benue state government has commenced the training of 10,000 youths in Information and Communication Technology, ICT.
Governor Hyacinth Alia who made this known in Makurdi said the state government was carrying out the training in partnership with Google and Bill Gates Foundation.
5. The People Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) have traded words over the performance of the Benue State Governor in his first 100 days in office.
While the PDP said it saw the performance of the Hyacinth Alia-led government thus far as a fusion of emptiness and disappointment, APC said the governor’s performance has been credible.
