Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has called on the new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state to exhibit unreserved loyalty and dedication in their service to the nation. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the orientation course for Batch B, Stream 2, at the NYSC Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, Governor Alia emphasized the significant role corps members play in shaping Nigeria’s future.

Vice President Commends Benue Fashion and ICT Hub

Vice President Kashim Shettima has lauded the Benue Fashion and ICT Hub, highlighting it as a key element of the federal government’s industrialization efforts. Represented by Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, during the inauguration of the hub and the remodeled Benue Printing House in Makurdi, Shettima praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for his dedication to the success of the SMEs clinic in the state.

Lawmaker Praises Benue Governor for APC Primary Elections

The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives and representative of Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Mr. Philip Agbese, has commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for ensuring the successful conduct of the APC local government primary elections across Benue’s 23 LGAs. However, Governor Alia swiftly refuted the lawmaker’s claims, accusing him of spreading false information and insisting that no primary election had taken place in the state.

Benue Ranks Among Top States for Student Loan Applications

Nigerian students from Benue State are among the top applicants for the newly introduced student loan scheme, according to data from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). Benue ranks third with 11,754 applicants, following Kano (17,122 applicants) and Borno (13,798 applicants). These three states are the only ones with over 11,000 applicants.

NCDC Confirms Three New Mpox Cases in Benue

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has confirmed three new cases of Mpox in Benue State, as part of eight new cases reported nationwide last week. This brings the total confirmed cases to 48 across 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The NCDC continues to monitor the outbreak, which has spread to 35 LGAs, with no deaths recorded so far.
