Benue PDP congresses: Abba Moro reveals those that should be elected

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, has called on members of the Benue South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to elect credible candidates in the upcoming party congresses. Speaking at the PDP zonal meeting held at Leach Hotel in Otukpo, Benue State, Moro urged members to focus on unity and peace within the party.

He emphasized the importance of setting aside divisive issues and working together for the party’s future. “If we are genuine and sincere to ourselves, we must ponder over what will unite and bring us together. We are not here to ponder over who is going to be the next Senator, House of Representatives, etc. Let’s put our past behind us and strategize for a better future,” Moro stated.

Moro dismissed the notion that one must hold a high office to contribute to the development of the senatorial district, adding, “Must we become governor before we contribute our quota to the development of the senatorial district? Those beating the drums of war shall be disappointed because there is no war here.”

He further advised party members to focus on the party’s interests rather than individual preferences. “We should not dwell on who we are supporting and who we are not supporting but consider our positions in the interest of the party,” he said.

Encouraging those interested in running for positions to take the necessary steps, Moro remarked that the PDP is not in dire straits, contrary to some beliefs, and expressed confidence in the party’s resurgence.

He also challenged those who supported the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South to demonstrate the achievements of Governor Hyacinth Alia after one year in office.
