Benue: Suspected herdsmen ambush, kill man in Oiji community

A man identified as Jonah Acheme was reportedly killed on Saturday evening in Oiji, a community in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to local sources, Acheme was ambushed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while returning home from Igah Ologbeche, a nearby village. The attack occurred along the road linking Oiji and the neighboring Idada community.

Oiji, situated in the southern region of Benue State, has seen growing tensions in recent months due to ongoing clashes between Fulani herders and indigenous residents.

This incident adds to a troubling series of attacks in surrounding Idoma communities, sparking heightened concerns over security in the area.
