Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, was among global dignitaries at the “Fostering the Future Together Summit” convened at the White House in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of U.S. First Lady, Melania Trump.

The high-level gathering brought together about 45 first ladies from different parts of the world to deliberate on improving access to educational resources and ensuring the safety of children in the digital space.

Also present at the summit was France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, alongside spouses of other world leaders who contributed to discussions on preparing young people for a fast-changing, technology-driven future.

Deliberations centred on building stronger international cooperation to equip children with relevant digital skills while addressing the risks that come with increased technology use in education and everyday life.

One of the standout moments of the event was the unveiling of an American-developed humanoid artificial intelligence system called “Figure 3.”

The demonstration marked a rare occasion where such advanced technology was introduced to global leaders within a formal diplomatic setting at the White House.

Addressing participants, Melania Trump highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future.

“The future of AI is personified – it will be formed in the shape of humans. Very soon artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoids that deliver utility,” she said.

She further noted that advancements in AI could redefine global structures and influence power dynamics.

“This technology may reset the modern world order and rebalance power. Your children must be prepared to ascend within this framework.”

Representatives from nine countries, including the United States, France, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco, also outlined their national approaches to incorporating technology into education. Their presentations underscored ongoing efforts to prepare students for a digitally driven world.

Melania Trump concluded by urging countries to deepen collaboration in order to translate the summit’s vision into reality.

“Our coalition can make this vision real by supporting concrete initiatives that equip young people with the skills they need invest, expand access, and foster new opportunity,” she said.
