Benue youths using ‘juju’ to kill elders –Traditional Ruler
A traditional Head of Tyoshin people of Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State, Chief Daniel Abomtse, has alleged that youths were using fetish means to kill elders in the area.
Abomtse stated this at the weekend during the burial ceremony of the late Special Adviser to the state governor on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA), Jerome Torshimbe in the local government council.
He said about 30 elders had lost their lives through the use of traditional oracles.
He said, “Isolated murder of elders on account of oracle consultation by youths has sent over 30 persons to their early graves spanning from 2012 to date.
“My council has done its best to curtail this phenomenon to no avail. We really need a government sledge hammer to descend on perpetrators and those connivers of this dastardly act.”
Governor Samuel Ortom, warned the youths to desist from the act, stressing that perpetrators would be apprehended and summarily dealt with.
Ortom further warned that any youth who would not heed his advice to stop consulting oracles with the intent of attacking others would be severely dealt with.
