Biafra: IPOB dismisses Adesina’s revelation on Buhari’s decision to arrest Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly rejected the claims made by Femi Adesina, former media aide to ex-President Bola Tinubu, regarding President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged intervention to prevent the elimination of Nnamdi Kanu, a pro-Biafra agitator.

In Adesina’s book, “Working with Buhari: reflections of a special adviser, media and publicity (2015-2023),” he asserted that Buhari opted for Kanu’s arrest over suggestions to eliminate him. In response, IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, dismissed Adesina’s book as “toilet paper” and criticized the former aide’s attempt to gain attention through Kanu’s mention.

Powerful’s statement declared, “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great and indefatigable leader, Nnamdi Kanu, calls a bluff the claim from Femi Adesina that Muhammed Buhari did Mazi Nnamdi Kanu a favour by arresting him as opposed to their assassination plans.”

He emphasized that the Buhari government understood the potential consequences of eliminating Kanu and highlighted that Adesina’s book had failed to garner positive attention. Powerful further revealed the past attempts to eliminate Kanu, linking it to the attacks on his father’s compound that resulted in the tragic deaths of his parents.

“It’s revealing that the former aide to the former President, Femi Adesina, has exposed the devilish agenda of his principal in his book. We know that they have tried so many ways to eliminate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu without success,” Powerful added.

The IPOB spokesman concluded that Kanu’s stature surpassed Adesina and his associates, expressing satisfaction that the alleged plans to eliminate Kanu had failed.
