BIRS commences tax drive exercise

The Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) has commenced tax drive within Makurdi metropolis.

This follows the directive by the Executive Chairman of the Service, Mr Andrew Ayabam, that every hand be on deck to ensure that revenue generation is improved beyond the normal.

The Director Tax Operations Mr Benjamin Agev today led a team constituted majorly by the new staff of the service in interfacing with schools and other businesses to enlighten and encourage them to pay among other taxes;
1. PAYE
2. DIRECTORS FEE
3. DEVELOPMENT LEVY
4. RENEWAL OF BUSINESS PREMISES.

With the earlier termination of all revenue contracts by the Executive Chairman Mr Andrew Ayabam, the blocking of all revenue leakages, the surmounting of miscreants at illegal road blocks on our roads and the hire of new staff for the service, BIRS is poised to deliver at its task of generating more revenue for the state.
