BREAKING: Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai, APC chieftains form coalition against Tinubu ahead of 2027 election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and several prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have launched a political coalition against President Bola Tinubu in preparation for the 2027 general election.

The announcement was made during an ongoing press conference attended by key opposition figures, including the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who was represented by Yunusa Tanko. Also present were former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Peter Ahmeh; and Convenor of The Alternative, Segun Showunmi, among others.

Additionally, apologies were tendered on behalf of other notable politicians who were unable to attend, including former governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu.
