BREAKING: Fake JAMB result: Mmesoma finally begs for forgiveness
Nineteen-year-old Miss Ejikeme Mmesoma, a student from Anambra State, recently confessed to fabricating her Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) result in order to claim the top position. She has now written a letter to the examination body seeking leniency and apologizing for her actions.
Mmesoma presented her letter of apology before the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee overseeing her case in Abuja on Wednesday. In her letter titled “Letter of Profound Apology,” she acknowledged the wrongdoing and expressed remorse for her actions.
She humbly sought forgiveness for her mistake, admitting that she obtained the fake JAMB result from another source and criticized JAMB in the process. Mmesoma emphasized that ignorance played a significant role in her actions and that she had never engaged in falsification or any form of misconduct before.
Mmesoma assured the committee that she had embraced genuine repentance and was willing to accept the recommendations put forth by the ad-hoc committee. She expressed her commitment to rectifying her mistake and becoming a better individual.
In response, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, stated that Mmesoma manipulated her result with the help of the examination center she attended, which has since been banned for aiding and abetting fraud. He also mentioned that eight other centers in Anambra State are under investigation in connection with Mmesoma’s case. Oloyede emphasized that JAMB’s processes are sound and urged the public to have confidence in public institutions.
The Registrar highlighted an innovative approach introduced by JAMB to reduce human interference in its operational processes, thereby increasing public confidence. He described Mmesoma’s case as amateurish, noting that there was another instance of falsification that nearly drove him to madness.
Chairman of the Committee, Representative Sanda Soli, advised Mmesoma to reform her ways and never resort to misconduct again. He acknowledged her high scores and urged her to maintain integrity in all her endeavors.
