BREAKING: FG orders immediate closure of 47 Unity Colleges amid security concerns

The Federal Government has directed the immediate shutdown of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across the country due to rising security threats.

The order was conveyed in a circular issued on Friday, warning of “heightened security risks in several regions” and stressing the need to safeguard students and staff.

According to the document, the decision received the approval of Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa. 

The circular was signed on his behalf by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education.

Principals of the affected institutions have been mandated to enforce the closure without delay.
