BREAKING: Herdsmen eviction: Protest rocks Akure over Akeredolu’s order
Protest has broken out in Akure, the Ondo State capita.
The development followed the ongoing war between the Ondo State Government and the Presidency over the seven-day ultimatum given to herdsmen to vacate Ondo forest reserves.
The protest was sponsored by supporters of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The demonstrators were seen with placards bearing various inscriptions, while calling on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu not to rescind his decision.
Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Ondo State chapter, Jacob Adejo said commercial drivers were no longer safe in the state.
Mr Adejo said his members need protection from herders.
This comes amid the controversy the governor’s order has generated.
More to come.
