BREAKING: Idoma people not backing me — Sunny Odugbo ‘withdraws’ from Benue 2027 guber race

Hon. Excellent Sonny Odugbo has announced his temporary withdrawal from the race for the Benue State governorship election in 2027.

In a statement issued by his Senior Campaign Director, Max Acha, the decision was attributed to a lack of enthusiasm and support from the people, as well as what was described as low energy and, in some cases, hostility towards his campaign team.

According to the statement, Odugbo said leadership thrives on collective belief, unity, shared vision, and enthusiasm, noting that the absence of these elements made it increasingly difficult to continue the race with the required conviction.

He expressed appreciation to supporters who had stood by him, stating that their encouragement had not gone unnoticed.

Odugbo, however, described the governorship ambition as an idea that could still be revisited, while thanking the public for their understanding.
