BREAKING: Nigerian Senate confirms Muttaqha Darma as Minister

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His confirmation followed a screening exercise conducted by the Senate on Thursday.

Darma was nominated on Wednesday by President Bola Tinubu to join the Federal Executive Council. He is expected to replace the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.

During plenary, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the President’s communication and referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for consideration, directing it to report back promptly.

Prior to his nomination, Darma served as Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
