Tinubu makes six new appointments

President Bola Tinubu has made key appointments in various agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. Some executives have been newly appointed, while others have been renewed for a new term.

Aminu Maida, the former Executive Director of Technology & Operations at Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS), has been newly appointed as the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC)/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

On the other hand, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has been reappointed for a second term in office.

In addition, President Tinubu appointed Idris Alubankudi as the Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy, as confirmed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

President Bola Tinubu’s appointments include:

  • Aminu Maida as EVC/CEO, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)
  • Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as MD/CEO, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT)
  • Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi as DG/CEO, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)
  • Dr. Vincent Olatunji as National Commissioner/CEO, Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
  • Tola Odeyemi as Postmaster General/CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST)
  • Idris Alubankudi as Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.

These appointments are effective immediately, reflecting President Tinubu’s commitment to leveraging Nigeria’s technological and digital economic strengths to enhance financial inclusion and reposition the nation’s economy.
