BREAKING: Tribunal gives judgement on Atiku, Obi’s petitions against Tinubu’s election
After weeks of intense speculation, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has officially announced that Wednesday, September 6th, will be the decisive day for delivering judgment in the three petitions challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
In a statement on Monday, Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Mohammed Bangari, confirmed this crucial date. Bangari, who presides over the court that houses the Tribunal, assured the public that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure a smooth and trouble-free rendering of the verdict in the three petitions.
The petitions were filed by Abubakar Atiku, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APC).
Furthermore, Bangari emphasized the deployment of ample security measures to maintain order and protect the proceedings. He added that only invited representatives of political parties and the general public with official invitations will be granted access to the courtroom, a precautionary measure to prevent overcrowding and potential security breaches.
