Champions League Round of 16 Draw: Full Fixtures and Key Clashes

Published

on

Liverpool will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 of this season’s UEFA Champions League after the two teams were drawn together on Friday.

The Reds secured top spot in the 36-team league phase, earning a direct passage to the knockout rounds. Meanwhile, PSG had to navigate a play-off tie, emphatically dispatching domestic rivals Brest 10-0 on aggregate to book their place in the last 16.

The first leg will take place at the Parc des Princes in Paris on March 4 or 5, with the return fixture at Anfield scheduled a week later.

This encounter marks a rematch of their 2018/19 group-stage meetings, where Liverpool won 3-2 at Anfield, but PSG claimed a 2-1 victory in Paris.

Elsewhere, defending champions Real Madrid will renew their fierce rivalry with Atletico Madrid in a highly anticipated showdown—a repeat of the 2014 and 2016 finals, both won by Los Blancos.

Bayern Munich will lock horns with Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, while Arsenal will take on PSV Eindhoven. Inter Milan, fresh from eliminating AC Milan in the play-offs, will face Feyenoord.

Barcelona have been drawn against Benfica, whom they edged 5-4 in a thrilling league-phase encounter last month. Meanwhile, Aston Villa will face Club Brugge, having already suffered a defeat against the Belgian side earlier in the competition.

Last season’s beaten finalists, Borussia Dortmund, will go up against French outfit Lille.
