China set to launch antitrust probe into Google

Published

China announced on Tuesday that it will launch an antitrust investigation into Google over alleged anti-competitive practices.

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) stated that the probe aims to examine potential violations of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law. The investigation will focus on whether Google’s business practices have unfairly restricted competition in the Chinese market.

This move comes amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny of major tech firms as China seeks to strengthen its oversight of digital platforms and ensure fair market competition.
