Controversies trail Mr. Idoma 2016, contestants battle organisers over ‘fake star prize’

The first ever Mr. Idoma pageant, was marred by controversies and conflict after the organisers failed to provide a brand new 2016 model of Chevrolet as the star price to the winner.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the organisers of the competition, who paraded a brand new 2016 model Chevrolet on social media when promoting their sales of forms, were nearly beating up by angry fans of contestants who claim the same organizers took bribe in order to influence the decisions of the judges in favor of contestants who promised to give cash prices to the judges.
The winners of the competition are contestant number 8: Michael Obande
(Mr. Idoma 2016 ) followed by Okih James obey contestant number 7 (Mr. Idoma 2016 ambassador) and contestant number 5 Idah Alan Raymond (Mr. Culture 2016), contestant number 2, Umoru Samuel (Mr. Ideal 2016) and contestant number 1, Okih Peter Adah (Mr. Impact 2016).
A certain Otukpo based-singer simply identified as Emz narrowly escaped attack from suspected hoodlums who attended the event after he performed a song that carries anti-cult messages.
According to a source, “majority of the people who attended the event went home with mixed feelings due to different issues that almost led to violence but we thank God that no injuries have been recorded as of now “.
As at the time of this report, prices are yet to be presented to the winners of the competition.
Efforts to reach the organisers could not yield any positive result.
