Susan Okpe, the suspected coronavirus index case in Benue State has narrated her horrible experience on her way to Abuja from Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

The minister of humanitarian affairs had ordered her transfer from Makurdi to Abuja after her outcry that the state government was playing politics with her life.

However, the UK-returnee was bundled into an ambulance provided the state government and taken to Abuja amid tight security.

After much drama, amid media pressure, the woman was taken to the National Hospital, Abuja where she was received by some doctors alongside Yemi Itodo and Tony Ogwuche.

Speaking on her ordeal on the way to Abuja, the woman who was seen healthy and agile said, “We arrived National Hospital at about 10 pm. A very terrible experience. We left Makurdi since 3pm and they refused to me ease herself even when I requested. In a very armed convoy. They went straight to Gwagwalada even without recourse to the instruction of the Minister that I should be moved to National Hospital.

“The way the driver was hitting my head as if he was sent to kill me. Thank God I’m here.”

Yemi Itodo, who has been in the forefront of the war, narrated thus:

“The Ambulance reached a stage and the griver said the fuel got finished and could not reverse to the stage entrance, and our sister Susan Okpe laughed aloud and jumped down from the ambulance, trekked some distance before climbing a 3 storey-building with speed. This woman is very strong na.”
