Covid 19: Sen. Abba Moro sensitizes constituents

The Senator representing the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Comrade Abba Moro, has added his voice to the campaign against the spread of COVID-19 in Benue South and Nigeria at large.

In a radio broadcast on Wednesday night, the Senator informed his
Constituents that the virus was real. He said cases of the virus had been reported in some states of the federation, including a case in Benue State. He appealed to the people to strictly abide by the safety measures recommended by government and Health Officials, among which are social distancing, washing of hands with soap and water regularly, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer and the need to report every suspected case of COVID-19 to the appropriate health institutions.

The Senator who spoke in both English and Idoma language, was emphatic on cross-border movements, stating that those living in border communities should be wary of strangers and visitors who come in from other states. He appealed to his Constituents to support the State Government and endure the measures being introduced to contain the virus, especially the social distancing and restrictions on religious and social gatherings.

Senator Moro said he was working with Benue State and Federal Governments to ensure that the virus does not spread beyond the level it is, stating that the safety of his Constituents is his major concern.

The Comrade-Senator ended his broadcast with a charge and prayer, urging his Constituents to be courageous. He said that whatever had a beginning must have an end, stating that it was the proverbial bed bug that told its children to be patient, that the hot water would soon be cold. The COVID-19 episodes that came from where we don’t know, by God’s grace as Ebola, SARS, etc came and left, the disease will also leave us as fast as it came. He urged all his constituents to continue to be prayerful.

The Comrade-Senator’s message was amplified by Dr. Eru Emmanuel and Dr. Paul Odumu who spoke in Igede and Idoma languages respectively. The Doctors said no cure had been found for the virus yet, stressing the need for hygienic living and social distancing. They appealed to the people to heed to Senator Abba Moro’s call and follow the safety measures.
