Dangote Refinery begins fuel loading with first trucks (VIDEO)

The Dangote Refinery has announced that the first trucks have begun loading Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) at its facility.

The Dangote Group shared the news in a video posted on its official X account on Sunday, stating, “HAPPENING NOW: First set of trucks set for loading of PMS at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.”

This development follows an announcement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Saturday, revealing that over 300 trucks had arrived at the refinery to load petrol.

DAILY POST reports that this marks the first time in years that locally produced petrol will be distributed within Nigeria.

Earlier, Finance Minister Wale Edun and Federal Inland Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji confirmed that agreements were in place for NNPCL to source petrol from the Dangote Refinery.

Petroleum marketers anticipate that this milestone will alleviate fuel scarcity and potentially lead to price reductions.
