Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has blamed Deborah Samuel for alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.
Deborah, believed to be in her 20s, was lynched and burnt for insulting the Prophet Mohammed.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that the deceased was until her death a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Wamako in Sokoto State.
Deborah, a 200-level Home Economics student who was accused of blasphemy, had complained bitterly over the influx of religious broadcast messages shared to her department’s WhatsApp page, IDOMA VOICE reports.
Reacting, Sani said the lady was wrong because blasphemy touches on the sensibilities and sensitivities of the faithful.
He said, “Blasphemy is wrong, unacceptable, and condemnable in any form because it touches on the sensibilities and sensitivities of the faithful. And murder is wrong and unacceptable in any form as there are legal steps to address such. The Sultan’s appeal for peace should be heeded.”
