Democratic Leadership Alliance unveils ideological political movement, calls for national renewal
The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has announced its official emergence, presenting itself as an ideologically driven political platform aimed at addressing Nigeria’s governance and development challenges.
In a statement released by its leadership, the group said its formation was driven by the urgent need to tackle systemic failures, economic stagnation, and insecurity across the country.
The DLA noted that its foundation is rooted in Pan-Africanism, ethical leadership, scientific advancement, and people-focused governance, stressing that it is committed to long-term national transformation.
According to the party, its economic blueprint prioritises a transition from a consumption-driven economy to one powered by production, innovation, and industrialisation.
The statement highlighted plans to strengthen local manufacturing, invest in technology and research, and empower youth-led enterprises as part of efforts to drive sustainable economic growth and job creation.
On security, the DLA described the protection of lives and property as non-negotiable, raising concerns over the continued destruction of farmlands and displacement of farming communities.
It called for immediate legislative and policy measures to halt such incidents, regulate cattle movement nationwide, and enforce a structured ranching system where livestock owners operate within designated frameworks.
The party emphasised that protecting farmers is essential to ensuring food security, economic stability, and restoring confidence in agriculture.
The DLA urged Nigerians to support its movement, describing it as a platform for citizens seeking purposeful and ideology-driven leadership.
It called on the public to reject corruption, political opportunism, and divisive tendencies, while embracing unity, discipline, innovation, and accountability.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to building a functional and inclusive nation, stressing that collective effort is required to secure Nigeria’s future.
“The time has come to rewrite the story of our nation and build a Nigeria that works for everyone,” the statement added.
