DJ Cuppy makes history as first Nigerian to host UNGA opening session

Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, a prominent disc jockey and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has made history as the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Cuppy moderated the Youth Action Day at the 2024 UNGA, which was themed “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.” She also showcased her talent with a musical performance following her keynote address.

Her session marked the largest youth gathering in the history of the UN Headquarters.

Notable figures attending the session included the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and the President of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves.
