Early morning fire razes popular Alesinloye market in Ibadan

Traders at the bustling Alesinloye Market in Ibadan Southwest Local Government Area suffered massive losses as an early-morning fire ravaged their shops, destroying goods worth millions of naira.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of devastation, with traders and residents left in shock by the unexpected inferno.

The swift intervention of the Oyo State Fire Service, assisted by firefighting teams from SUMAL and Sweetco companies, helped prevent the fire from spreading further.

As of the time of this report, the full extent of the damage remains unknown.

A source noted that the losses could have been minimized if a fire station had been located within the market.

Confirming the incident, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, stated that his team was still actively working to contain the aftermath.

He expressed gratitude to SUMAL and SWEETCO for deploying their firefighting trucks and personnel to assist in controlling the blaze.
