The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Dele Oyewale, Head of Media & Publicity for the EFCC, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in a coordinated sting operation across different locations in Uyo. Five were arrested at Shelter Afrique, while others were caught at Ifa, off Oron Road.
Among those arrested, two are undergraduates, three are online clothing vendors, one is a forex trader, and another is a film director.
Items recovered from them include 21 mobile phones, six laptops, one international passport, and three luxury cars.
The EFCC stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
