EPL: Clichy reveals Man City’s weakness

Former Manchester City defender Gael Clichy has revealed the weakness of Pep Guardiola’s team ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

Clichy pointed out Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli as the two Arsenal players who could pose a threat to City.

The Premier League champions are set to host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.

“I think it would be a mistake for Mikel Arteta to play defensively and let Manchester City control the ball,” Clichy mentioned to Super 6.

“Arsenal cannot afford to lose on Sunday. A draw would still keep them ahead of City in the table, but I’m not sure a draw is enough against a team like City.

“I believe if there’s a club that can match City’s performances over the past decade, it’s Arsenal. The weakness in the Man City team is when they have possession, they often lose the second ball and can be vulnerable on the counter.

“Players such as Saka and Martinelli have the ability to exploit City’s vulnerabilities on the counterattack. Keeping possession and utilizing the space behind City’s defense could be crucial. If there’s a team capable of going there and securing points, it’s Arsenal.”
