EPL: Zola welcomes Victor Osimhen to Chelsea

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has expressed confidence that Victor Osimhen would thrive at his former club if he were to join them next summer.

The Nigerian striker has been linked with Chelsea as the club seeks attacking reinforcements.

Despite a January move being unlikely, the 24-year-old, who admires former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, has signaled his openness to joining the London club.

Zola, in an interview with Obionepodcast, praised Osimhen’s qualities, stating, “I rate him as one of the top strikers around at the moment, for his energy, for his ability to score and also play with the opposition. I’m sure he can be a success in the Premier League as well for sure.”

While Zola believes Osimhen could positively impact Chelsea, he acknowledged the player’s decision to stay with Napoli for another year.

Osimhen will have one year left on his Napoli contract next summer, and if a new deal isn’t signed, the Serie A champions might consider selling him at the end of the season.
