Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen is pleased with his first year at the English giants.

Eriksen signed a multi-year deal as a free agent last summer, having left Brentford at the end of his short-term contract.

The 31-year-old became a popular figure among the fans, given his creativity and excellent passing.

In an interview with club media this week, the Dane spoke about his time as a United player so far.

“I’m very happy, very glad [with my decision] looking back on everything that happened,” he said.

“Of course, I was unfortunate with an injury in the middle of it but we can forget there was a World Cup in the middle of the season, which broke it up.

“I’m pleased with my first season. I had a lovely summer break with my family, which was really nice to switch off and just focus on being on a trip with them. It was a long season, but I think every season is always tough.

“You always feel like you need a break. This season was no different, it was just nice to have a few weeks off and to be somewhere else. It’s nice to be back and to be with the guys. Everyone has enjoyed a holiday, so the vibe and feeling is good.

I did watch most of the [opening pre-season] games when I had time, but the first few matches are usually just for condition and for the fans, especially being out here [America]. It’s building up your fitness and I think you can see that.”
