Rashford set to return to Man Utd as Barcelona refuses €30m buy clause
Marcus Rashford is expected to return to Manchester United after Barcelona decided against activating the €30 million buy option in his loan agreement.
The England international spent last season on loan with the LaLiga champions, where he impressed with 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.
Despite his contributions, Barcelona will not exercise the clause that would have made his move permanent before the deadline expires.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on X, stating: “Barcelona will NOT pay the €30m buy option clause for Marcus Rashford, which expires in five days.
“Rashford is formally set to return to Manchester United, but Barça remain open to alternative solutions, including another loan deal.
“Barcelona are willing to discuss the situation again if Manchester United open the door.”
Rashford’s immediate future remains uncertain, with Barcelona still interested in exploring a fresh loan arrangement. However, for now, the forward is expected to rejoin Manchester United ahead of the new season.
