FAAN announces power shutdown at Lagos Airport
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced plans to temporarily shut down power supply to the International Terminal 2 at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Saturday, between 1:00 am and 4:30 am.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, FAAN assured that the power outage would cause minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger services.
During the maintenance period, Royal Air Maroc, whose operations coincide with the shutdown, will be relocated to International Terminal 1 for check-in and arrival procedures.
The statement added, “Airlines, security agencies, and concessionaires will be duly informed.”
FAAN also reassured passengers that airport operations would continue smoothly despite the temporary disruption, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.
“The safety and security of all airport users remain our top priority,” the statement concluded.
