FACT CHECK: Has Dangote reduced the price of Cement to N2700
The claim that Dangote Cement Plc has reduced the price of cement from N5,500 to N2,700, effective from October 1st, is false.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Head of Corporate Communications at Dangote Group, debunked these reports, stating that they were fabrications intended to generate traffic and trend on social media.
Bashir Ahmad, an ex-presidential aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, also confirmed the denial in a tweet, emphasizing that the Dangote Group had not reduced the price of cement.
Furthermore, a check on the Dangote Cement website revealed no reduction in the cement price, affirming that the claim of a price reduction is untrue.
In summary, the information claiming that Dangote Cement has reduced the price of cement to N2700 is false and should be disregarded. The company has clarified that there has been no such reduction in the price of cement.
