The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven suspected “one-chance” operators linked to the murder of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) graduate who recently completed her service in Abuja.

The arrests followed a petition filed on July 21, 2025, by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co. to the Inspector-General of Police, which was referred to the FCT Commissioner of Police. The case was taken up by the Scorpion Squad led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey.

Police sources said the suspects were picked up between August 8 and September 25, 2025, through digital and forensic intelligence.

Those arrested include Solomon Obada (29), Olemba Ajonwe (29), Aba Godwin (40), Kadijat Yakubu (18), Sunday Ejih Okpeh (29), Joseph Oche Samuel (25), and Michael Sunday Eneh (25). Most of them are residents of Mararaba in Nasarawa State, with Yakubu traced to Kaduna.

Investigators said the victim’s phone was tracked and recovered from Yakubu in Kaduna. Obada and Ajonwe reportedly confessed during interrogation that they attacked the victim in their operational vehicle, a blue Golf car, and stabbed her during a struggle over her phone. They admitted to abandoning her while she was bleeding in Wuse II, Abuja.

Police said one other suspect is still at large, while items recovered include the victim’s mobile phone and the vehicle used in the crime.

The FCT Police Command said investigations are ongoing and assured that justice will be served.
